Starting salary For USVI teachers climbs to $50K starting September 2023

FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI- The starting pay for all teachers in the US Virgin Islands (USVI) will be $50,000 beginning in September of this year, Governor Albert A. Bryan Jr announced Thursday evening, January 26, 2023.

Bryan Jr on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, signed into law the Virgin Islands Cannabis Use Act (Act 8680), which allows for the legal use by adults of marijuana for recreational, medicinal and other purposes. It also allowed for the legal distribution of the drug in the US Virgin Islands (USVI).

800 jobless, $1.8B economic decline due to USVI refinery closure
