USVI: Federal warning issued amid cockfighting matches reports

VETERANS DRIVE, St. Thomas, USVI- The United States Attorney for the District of the Virgin Islands, Delia L. Smith, has issued a reminder to residents that cockfighting remains illegal under federal law. This prohibition, outlined in the Agricultural Improvement Act (P.L. 115-334) of December 20, 2019, extends to all U.S. territories, including the Virgin Islands.
Up to $5k fine, 6 months jail for public gambling- Gaming & Betting Act
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Individuals involved in roadside gambling or any type of public betting in the Virgin Islands (VI), including cockfighting, can now be fined and prosecuted under the Gambling (Gaming & Betting) Control Act 2020, passed June 18, 2020, in the VI House of Assembly (HoA).
