UPDATE: Valve explosion caused chlorine leak at water plant -MCW Minister
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - It was a valve that had exploded while it was being opened by an employee that caused the chlorine leak at the Baugher's Bay Desalination Plant on February 6, 2013.
Territory has to honour Biwater contract- Hon. Vanterpool
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Minister for Communications and Works Hon. Mark Vanterpool says the Territory has an obligation to honour the controversial Biwater contract and that Government has been working closely with Biwater officials to assist them to reach their contractual obligations.
Baugher’s Bay plant under new management!
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A reduction in water rationing and a more consistent supply of water to households and businesses are expected from the Baugher’s Bay Desalination Plant in the coming months as it is now under new management- Sage Utilities Holdings Limited.
OC wins millions from Gov't, feels vindicated
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The longstanding legal battle between Ocean Conversion (OC) BVI Limited and the Government of the Virgin Islands over the ownership of the Baugher's Bay Desalination Plant and monies owed to OC, saw the company emerging victorious on all but one issue with OC’s President Glenn Harrigan feeling vindicated when the judgment was handed down in the Appellant Court on April 18, 2012.
