USVI Gov’t employees being terminated due to ‘financial crisis

Mapp has said on multiple occasions that the territory’s financial condition has been improving and that government employees would not be furloughed or terminated, some workers employed at the Bureau of Corrections have been terminated because of the “continued financial crisis” affecting the government.

Mapp at a press conference held at Government House today, February 22, 2017 revealed that his administration has been considering shutting government operations down one day every two weeks until September 30, 2017 to help keep the government afloat.
