This Old Boy Journalist met a political aspirant and family friend last Thursday afternoon. This was November 6, 2014. He asked the man what his vision for the Virgin Islands was. In other words, what was the political wannabe’s personal image of EL DORADO? How would he get the country to the PROMISED LAND? What was the politician’s picture of these Lesser Antilles in 10 years? To be fair, that was a tough question to ask anyone without them being prepared.

On the night of May 28, 2014, Julian Fraser became the Leader of the Virgin Islands Party. Fraser is a man with an astonishing grasp of detail. Fraser possesses the steady ability to assess policy matters with careful deliberation and thoughtfulness. Fraser is a very intelligent man.
Politics and the Virgin Islands Public service

Or should the Public Service remain under the Crown with the Governor as Head of the Public Service? That is a matter worthy of assessment by the reader, considering various assertions made by past and present politicians on the subject over the years, mostly in support of bringing the public service under political control.
