ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Six calypsonians will now be going head to head with the three time and reigning Monarch, Sistah Joyce (born Joycelyn Searles), for the Calypso crown and the grand prize of $6,500.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- King Paido, Rockey, Ojinga, Queen Shereen, new comer Yung Blood, and Mighty Cloud were among those that gave the sizable crowd that gathered on Friday July 3, 2015 at Village Cay a taste of what to expect at this year’s Emancipation Festival 2015 Calypso Competition. And coming off elections season, it was not surprising that politics and politicians were the focus of most calypsonians.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The organising committee for the first ever Soca Monarch competition to be held in the Virgin Islands as a key activity of this year’s Festival has released the names of the finalists.
