Immigrants, it's time to 'get the hell out!'

Not too long ago, a local Virgin Islands businessman was heard in a meeting of like-minds, which was broadcast live across social media, uttering blistering remarks about immigrants. The meeting was live without their knowing and the video went viral among immigrants. As you can imagine, his business declined dramatically as a result. He later offered his apology but to no avail.

The entire Virgin Islands has been closely observing the developments within the Territory since the beginning of the year under the new VIP administration, and sure enough one would expect to have flip flops here and there every now and then given that the new administration consists mainly of new and inexperienced political representatives, which in one way could be a very good thing in that they are less likely to make decisions based on conventional norms.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola VI- Following the successful recent processing of some 1500 persons living and working in the Virgin Islands (VI) for 20 years and more for Residency and Belonger status, Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration, Hon Vincent O. Wheatley (R9) says come 2020, only "fit and proper" individuals will be allowed to enter and work in the VI.
