Long Bush youth assaults & threatens to shoot father

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Long Bush resident, Eric Casey, pleaded guilty before the Magistrate’s Court today, February 14, 2014 to assaulting and threatening to kill his father, almost one year to the date the incident occurred.

Gunfire in Long Bush: no injuries

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The Police Information Office reports that the RVIPF were last night (September 16, 2012) investigating reports of gunfire sometime around 22:30 (ten-thirty p.m.) in the Long Bush area. No persons are reported injured.

Manse Road dug up again!

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- After spending monies to construct and pave the much needed Manse Road also known as Paul Wattely Drive contractors had to go back and dig up the same road weeks later to lay water pipes and electrical lines. The cost of this is not known at this time, although the Project Manager Greg Hodge claimed that the redoing was done at no additional cost to tax payers.

BVIEC replacing original streetlights with LED lights

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- One of the objectives of the Government of the Virgin Islands is to reduce the territory’s dependence on imported oil derived from fossil fuels. The strategy for accomplishing the aforementioned is multifaceted and will be initiated by various methods. The first of these methods is through the use of techniques involving energy conservation. One such conservation method is with the conversion of our traditional roadway lighting to Light Emitting Diodes (LED).

Bush cutting exercise on stream in 6th District

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Tourists who make the 6th District one of their routes will soon be enjoying a new experience when the clean-up exercise taking place there shifts to high gear next week with the trimming of tall trees, which usually block the scenic views along the road ways and hillsides.
