PASEA ESTATE, Tortola, VI- The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has said it is investigating a hit and run collision that occurred after 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 19, 2026, after 8:00 PM in the vicinity of Delta Gas Station in Pasea Estate.

Police, in a press release today, February 20, 2026, said preliminary information suggests that a female pedestrian was crossing the eastbound lane of the roadway when she was struck by a vehicle travelling from west to east.

The driver reportedly attempted to brake but was unable to avoid the collision.

According to the RVIPF, the impact caused the pedestrian to be thrown into the air before landing on the roadway. "The vehicle failed to stop at the scene and fled immediately after the collision," the RVIPF stated.

Condition of injured woman 'unknown'

Emergency Medical Services responded promptly and transported the injured pedestrian to Dr. Orlando Smith hospital for medical treatment.

Police said her condition is currently unknown.

The RVIPF is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information that could assist in investigation, identifying the vehicle or driver involved to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS).

This so-called drive shows selfish, disgusting behavior and complete disregard for the pedestrians' well-being. The s--called driver probably drove away because they were either driving an uninsured vehicle or without a license and out to save their own skin, as it happens so often here. Somebody knows who did this and should do the right thing and come forward.
