Claire Sulmers, Owner and Journalist of the blog site, informed Virgin Islands News Online, that the VI and its fashions and culture, will be a nice addition to her collection and her website. She added that she is thrilled to see what is in store.

“I’m constantly looking for inspiration, new designers, and I take every opportunity granted to me. I have been to many fashion shows in the Caribbean, but never the Virgin Islands, so I’m excited.”

At the opening event held on July 19, 2012 at the Scrub Island Resort, Ms. Sulmers told this news site that with the exposure of the VI community, it can promote the island, its people, and of course its fashion.

“Through my involvement with this year’s Summer Sizzle event I plan on documenting my whole experience. Maybe next time around people can just jump on a flight and come enjoy themselves next year. People all over the world read fashionBombDaily.com, so it’s just about getting the information out there.”

Meanwhile, organiser of the event, Mr. Terry Donovan, said with the event being covered by media of that level, which attracts people from all over the world, its poses as an invitation, showing the “wonderful things of the Virgin Islands, and the things they can be a part of, once they travel to the VI to have Fashion fun in the sun.”

Other international media who are covering the event are Essence Magazine, Covenant Post and Ebony Magazine.

Summer Sizzle will continue later this evening July 21, 2012, with its Fashion Show at UPs Ball Room.
