False notice of school closure circulating on social media- Education Ministry

The Ministry, in a statement this morning, said it wishes to advise the public that this information is false.
"The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) has not issued any advisory to close schools, and the Ministry of Education has not authorised any such communication.
"The Ministry further condemns the falsification and circulation of official documents, which is both inappropriate and misleading. Such actions cause unnecessary confusion and disruption within the community."
All schools remain open today
The Education Ministry is asking parents, students, and the general public to disregard this false notice and to be guided only by official statements issued directly from the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports and posted on the Government of the Virgin Islands’ official platforms, as well as shared via local radio stations.
"All schools remain open today, Thursday, 18th September 2025, as normal."
The Ministry acknowledged that periods of unsettled weather are forecasted and urged everyone to exercise caution, stay alert to official updates, and take the necessary safety measures as they go about their daily activities.
