Fahie “humbled” to be re-elected

- “I will continue to be steadfast in purpose & diligent in actions”
First District Representative Andrew Fahie said he is humbled to be re-elected.
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Re-elected representative of the 1st District and former Minister for Education and Culture Andrew Fahie says he has been humbled at being one of the four members of the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) to be re-elected at the recent General Elections and has vowed to continue to be steadfast in purpose and diligent in actions to the people of his district and the Territory.

He also said the Virgin Islands Party will “review everything” and make the necessary adjustments.

Hon. Fahie (VIP) received 611 votes while his lone challenger in the district, independent candidate, Preston Stoutt received 317 votes. Coincidentally, he had also received the same amount of votes at the 2007 elections.

“Firstly I want to thank Almighty God for His grace & mercy that has brought us through the 2011 General Elections. Next I want to thank the people of the 1st District and my family for their support, prayers and guidance during the elections and daily. Through them God has allowed me to be victorious in the recently concluded 2011 General Elections in being re-elected as the 1st District representative for the 4th consecutive time with 611 votes which is the same 611 votes that I received in 2007,” he said in a statement.

He said he is humbled and thankful to the people of his District, given that over 40 persons contested the 2011 General Elections for 13 seats and they made sure once again that he was one of the 13.

“Although I am in the opposition I will continue to be steadfast in purpose and diligent in actions as I represent the people of the 1st District and the people of this Territory so that generations to come can be pleased with my efforts.”

According to Fahie, the VIP will improve upon its weak areas to make them strong and will keep ensuring that they strengthen their already strong areas as well. “We will support what is right for the people. We will review everything and make the necessary adjustments.”

Fahie took the opportunity to congratulate the new Government, stating that “we must now unite in our efforts to make a brighter Virgin Islands. We thank everyone who voted for the Virgin Islands Party and even those that didn't because the democratic process was followed.”

Andrew you are a good minister, you deserve to be there; but I will say over and over again, you are on the wrong side, and you know it because you in the house of assembly saying "I talk till my pressure went up", right there that means, your team does not respect your views. You in the house of assembly begging dem to "bell dat cat". Well no need to worry, we belled all yuh cats so no more pressure for you at least for the next four years. Chill out, relax and learn from the best how a government should be ran like a true team.

I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN ANDREW. ANDREW SET UP HIS OWN (VIP) FOR POWER AND LOSE. ALL THE GOD HE TALK ABOUT SHOWED HIM WHO RULED. GOD DON'T LIKE UGLYNESS. YOU WAS HOPING TO GET ALVIN OUT, GET DANCIA OUT BY SETTING UP THEIR OPPOSITIONS TO RUN, WHY, BECAUSE YOU FEEL THAT DANCIA AND FRAZER IS A THREAT TO YOU AND IT'S ALL ABOUT POWER HUNGRY. ANDREW WHEN YOU TRY TO OUTSMART PEOPLE YOU OUTSMART ONE SELF. YOU TRIED TO OVER THROW THE VERY TEAM YOU WORKED WITH AND JOINED THE NEW ONES. GREED. TIME WILL TELL WAIT.

It is a pleasure to see people act gracious even in defeat> How one acts when things do not go your way is a large clue to a persons charecter. I guess Keith Flax the only VIP that we have not heard from is taking actions that give those with eyes insight in to just what he is made of.
