'Extra work' was the only thing received for joining VIP Gov't- Hon Stacy R. Mather MBE
Speaking in his first public interview on JTV Channel 55 with Cathy O. Richards on December 31, 2025, Hon Mather said, “The decimal point has not moved. There is no extra zero…there is not a penny more. There is no allowance more. Nothing. I do not have a title, I am not a minister, I am not a junior minister, I do not have extra.”
Hon Mather, who joined the government on December 22, 2025, said the only thing extra he has gotten is extra work and responsibilities.
He will work closely with Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) on the Registration, Apprenticeship, Training, Employment, and Development (RATED) programme, initiatives in agriculture and fisheries, and the development of community programmes aimed at empowering community-based organisations to execute initiatives for the upliftment of the citizens and residents of the community.
Don’t want to be a career politician
Hon Mather also said he does not aspire to be a career politician, and it is not something new.
“I’ve said in the House of Assembly, for those who do not listen, go back because people are quoting my words. I’ve said I don’t want to be a career politician. I’m not, that’s not what I am. That’s not why I ran. I ran to help my people.”
He said that those of his critics who opine that his move to the government is to secure his political future, it is not so.
“My political future is as long as God wants me to have it. My family wants me to have it, and my people want me to have it. I have it, I accepted that.”
Hon Mather added it is the same for those who say he moved because of power, asking, “Where’s the power?”
“If I’m a Member of the Opposition in the House of Assembly, I get one numerator package. If I’m in the government, where I’m doing even more, then why is your paycheck not more? Because that’s not the way it works, and for me to have expected something knowing the way the system works, that doesn’t make sense,” he clarified.

Anywho…when they get it of their feelings and see what value you add (don’t kind CsC as he is a parasite) by resolving these community social issues by ASSISTING the sitting government as opposed to grandstanding like your colleagues on the other side.
