Expect a ‘fun-filled’ VG Easter Festival weekend 2022 – Dirk L. Walters

VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI – Held annually during the Easter weekend, the Virgin Gorda Easter Festival 2022 is named after Raul “Jougo” Sprauve and is currently off to a full swing with a number of events, including family-focused activities and entertainment.

Chairman of the Virgin Islands Festivals & Fairs Committee (VIFFC) Mr. Dirk L. Walters said commenting on this year’s activities said, “Patrons are in for a treat with a fun-filled weekend. The committee encourages everyone to come out and support the activities which have been planned with the community in mind.”

Events kick off Saturday 

The events will officially begin from today, Saturday, April 16, 2022, with a Cultural Food Fair along Lee Road (across from the Fire Station).

The fair, which started at 10:00 a.m., features nine (9) vendors who will have popular Virgin Islands traditional dishes, drinks, and desserts, and entertainment with Razor Bladez, DJ Miggz, DJ Fatz and DJ Manly.

In the evening, The Raul “Jougo” Sprauve Village will start at the Walters Recreation Park starts at 7:00 p.m. with entertainment from Leon & the Hot Shots, Dink Dawg, Hardcore Band, R. City and VIBE. Village entry is $25 for adults, and $10 for children under age 12.

Then on Sunday, April 17, 2022, The Hon. Ralph T. O’Neal Easter Hat Parade on starts at Dixie’s Restaurant at 10:00 a.m. and then moves along Lee Road to Walters Recreation Park.

Village entertainment begins at 7:00 p.m. with Pure Mas Band, It’s a Secret Band, Patrice Roberts & the A-Team Band, and Extreme Band. Village entry is $30, and $10 for children under age 12. 

No grant Parade 

The 2022 Easter Festival ends on Monday, 18th April at the Village, with entertainment from ABM and Up Top Band. Village entry is FREE. Regarding the cancellation of the Grand Parade, Mr. Walters noted, “Due to various factors, unfortunately, there won’t be a parade this year.”

This year’s Virgin Gorda Easter Festival is the 53rd annual celebration, with the last festivities taking place in April 2019.

The deadline for registration for the har show is tonight April 15, 2022, where Interested participants should email samanthastevens.vg@gmail.com for to registration at a cost of $10 for entry.

    No parade WTF! This is what happens when you have jokers and government involvement in we thing. Always had a parade from time it had festival in VG. Don't worry VG we going get rid of the bad mindedness and BS and take it back to how it should be. Last minute secret deals a minute to midnight. Guess them clowns still in the woods looking for cup
