FLORIDA, USA – Former Premier and First District representative in the Virgin Islands, Andrew A. Fahie has filed a motion before a Florida court through his lawyer Theresa Van Vliet to receive more flexible bail bond conditions ahead of his July 2023 trial.

Mr Fahie who is currently facing charges related to drug smuggling and money laundering has been charged along with his co-accused, former BVI Ports Authority Director Oleanvine Pickering-Maynard, and her son, Kadeem Maynard.

According to information, as a result of his bail conditions which restrict Mr Fahie to an apartment shared by his two daughters and some leeway to travel to court, Ms Van Vliet has been traveling to Fahie’s house to prepare his defense.

It was detailed that when Van Vliet visits Mr Fahie, his student daughters would leave the apartment for short periods to give both Van Vliet and Mr Fahie privacy to discuss sensitive matters.

Ms Van Vliet on Friday, April 7, 2023, asked the court to adjust the bail conditions so her client can travel 45 minutes to her Fort Lauderdale office to have meetings, and this will be done no more than three times a week. As part of Van Vliet’s argument, she said as the trial nears, there will be more need to meet with her client frequently and for longer periods.

Fahie recently obtained permission for Doctor's visit

Ms Van Vliet also requested that Mr Fahie be allowed to leave his house to seek health care services in the form of dental care with follow-up visits.

Ms Van Vliet said her client recently obtained permission to travel to his dentist for a root canal and wanted additional freedoms for follow-up dental visits.

Mr Fahie, along with Ms Pickering-Maynard and her son Kadeem were arrested on April 28, 2022.

The three have pleaded not guilty to the various charges with Mr Fahie out on bail since June 2022 under terms that he wears an electronic monitoring device and not leave his daughters' Florida apartment.

Mr. Fahie is entitled to his defense of the charges against him. He has a capable attorney to defend him in court.

Two options. 1, make do with the daughter apartment. 2, make do with prison. Nothing to be considered here.

How much money went to his district again? Of course you all want him to come home. I guess the monies drying up. Other districts doing without, but his district well fattened. You all have no shame whatsoever. SMH!

You fail to understand what was his district desire they got. One thing I can say his district was not left behind except for water woes and that you have to ask the people who were encharged of water and sewage. Stop blogging hate and go on your knees and pray for your sins and not celebrating another person's downfall because you or anyone of us may fall in that same ditch. Don't forget to dig two.

The Bolbke clearly states talks about consequences for ones actions. I teach my kids that every day, and if you cannot see that every action has consequences then you are what is wrong with society. Teach your kids to make wise choices. That is what Proverbs is all about. I am not glorifying his persecution. I am stating the facts that he has to face the consequences if his actions and people need to understand that. What kind of example are you setting for your kids if you don't tell them that his actions were wrong? Strpppss.

Put him in prison. Thats where most accused meet their lawyers and can receive medical care otherwise, he'll disappear to Venezuela- dead or alive
