The late 'Butchie' was a fixture in the security field after serving as a police officer for many years. He retired in the rank of Chief Inspector. The late Romney also acted as Police Superintendent.
Following his retirement from the police force, he moved to the House of Assembly where he served as the Sergeant-at-Arms and set the standards for that role.
He was also a businessman and operated a security company, Elite Security Services, that does work throughout the Territory.
The management and staff of Virgin Islands News Online offer our condolences to his immediate family and other loved ones.
The territory is also mourning the deaths of former Health Minister Carvin Malone and tourism icon Grace P. Flax-Waters.
