You are so right with your definition of a consultant. "Truly a failed Politician". I am hearing on the street that she leaving TPP for a high paying position / consultant Job in Govt. She hasn't meet the requirements for the soon available CEO Job..What requirement? She can do it. . The club has a replacement from one club member to another.

Here is the issue I have, all these big money jobs are done so very quickly but a $3.00 on minimum wage going take 2yrs.. Obviously no rush, or its not a priority to help the suffering people. Not even an increase on the tax exemption for those that making under $24.000 per yr. No compassion no care, no sympathy. All about their cronies..

Does anyone know how or what consultants do? Is there any accomplishment that can be cited for these consultants? Nothing is wrong with getting a payday, but should the government be a rubber stamp to reward zealous supporters?

OJ never really told the people the nature of his work or the benefits it brought. Yet he continues to consult at the highest level with very little knowledge or experience on national issues.

A people who woefully abuse and denigrate its sovereignty and government may lose it all and then some.

I think that Allen has a lot to offer. Jesus said” he without sin, cast the first stone” a lot of us lives in glass houses but we love to throw stones. Allen is a forward thinker. Let is give him a chance to prove himself once again and help this country to make some money. If he doesn’t live up to his contract then we remove him. A number of us just sit and complain and don’t come up with solutions. SMH. Chupps!

Bro, its a contract he got, not elected... "we" can't fire him no more than "we" hired him.

All we ask for is transparency with these secretive high value payouts... same as we needed when CSC was hired as a "consultant" but produced nothing of value

Undoubtedly and unequivocally, L. Allen Wheatley, former Financial Secretary of the BVI, is bright, smart, talented, energetic, community minded, hardworking, a wellspring of ideas, knowledgeable, etc., and has the potential to be successful with some adjustments and improvements in attitude, behavior, maturity, discipline, respect, arrogance, humility; demonstrating the willingness to work cooperatively with others. In addition, he must tone down always wanting to be the loudest voice in the room, demonstrating the need to be the wiseacre and brightest star in the constellation/the room, demonstrating the willingness to listen to and share the input of others, being receptive to constructive criticism, etc. He must let positive outcomes do most of the talking. Making these adjustments are not insurmountable and I’m confident that with his talent and drive, etc,,along with making the adjustments that he will get the job done, delivering the goods. This rant may not go over well with some but not telling our families, friends, love ones, etc the good, bad, and ugly we do them a disservice, presenting faux reality of things.

To Redemption, some tough but needed love. It was not mean-spirited and needed to be communicated for a longtime. At least you had the courage to say, not beating around the bush. Hopefully, the constructive and well-meaning criticism is taken in a positive manner with the spirit and intent with which it was communicated. Time will tell though.

@ Redemption, Solomon in Proverb 10:8, notes, “ The wise in heart will receive commands, But a prating fool will fall.” We are the last sometimes to see the true true reflections in the mirror, failing to see what others see, and we believe or own hype, self absorbed ego, what others tell us what we want to hear, etc. The truth is we are the last to know and we should seek independent, real, truthful, honest,,pull no punches opinions. Redemption was brutally honest; I find the view priceless constructive feedback; it was not disparaging, though it may be taken as such. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth . Truth be told Redemption’s assessment is a view also held by many others in the community. The last election results demonstrate this. Mr. Wheatley, should act like the wise and take a time out to reflect on things and do a self-assessment, making changes as needed. Organizations, the progressive ones, go through creative destruction process to improve m, so too must individual go through a transformation and adjustment process to adopt to changing times, conditions, which are constant and occurring at an accelerating rate.

To @Redemption, seems as if you are laying to Mr. Wheatley to do what the late Norbert Wheatley aka Fix It patented, ie, Fix Yo Self..” Wiseacres, wisbanks, don’t play well with others. They are egotisticallly driven, wants to dominant figure in every discussion, see no other view(s) but their own. Humility is not their friend and wants to be the straw that stirs the drink.

Perhaps what is most disappointing about some of these comments are the echoes of a time when Virgin Islanders were deliberately made to look down on their own people in spite of our closeness to each other by blood.

Allen like Myron who has been elected have trouble with the law but they are both our own
