‘Every step, every challenge, every moment led here’- Asha A.S. Hyndman
“Every step, every challenge, every moment led here. Consistency. Grace. Purpose. Power. None of it would have been possible without my incredible team, my supporters, and everyone who believed in me. This was our journey,” she wrote on her Facebook page on August 4, 2026.
Hyndman was crowned Miss BVI during the early hours of August 3, 2026, at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex in Road Town, Tortola.
No stranger to pageantry, she dominated the pageant, taking home the awards for Best Evening Wear, Best Talent, Best BVI Promotional Segment, Best Swimwear, Best Introduction Platform Speech, Miss Photogenic, Miss Poise, and Miss Popularity.
'To God be the glory’
“Thank You, Lord, for carrying me, my fellow contestants, my team, my supporters, and everyone who walked alongside me throughout this journey. Every step was guided by Your grace, and I am forever grateful. May I carry this title with humility, purpose, and a heart committed to serving the people of the Virgin Islands,” Hyndman wrote in a separate post.
Angelique B. Lettsome placed First Runner Up and was awarded Best Cultural Costume and Miss Intellect, while Kala J. Penn placed Second Runner Up and received the Miss Congeniality award.
Full circle moment with her chaperone
Hyndman also thanked her chaperone Jaylene Jno-Lewis, Miss BVI 2014. Hyndman reflected on meeting Jno-Lewis 12 years ago in 2014, adding that little did she know that their paths would cross again.
“Life has a beautiful way of connecting moments that don't seem important at the time. Looking back now, I can only smile and thank God for how every part of the journey came together,” she wrote
Among Hyndman’s winnings as Miss BVI 2026, she will receive a four-year educational scholarship valued at $80,000 and a brand-new 2027 Haval Jolion, courtesy of the Office of the Premier and Alphonso Enterprise Ltd.
She was crowned Miss BVI 2026 with a custom-designed crown and sceptre from House of Luxury.
Hyndman is also a former Miss Teen BVI, and Miss University of the Virgin Islands. She was First Runner Up at the Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant in 2024.

It's fair to say someone wasn't your favorite, but calling Asha "fake" or agreeing that she's "ghettoish" because of her personality or expressions is unfair. Confidence, enthusiasm, and stage presence look different on different people.
The judges evaluated the competition and made their decision. Asha earned the crown and that should be respected even if she wasn't your personal choice. You can support your favorite without tearing down the winner. ????
Confidence, personality, and stage presence should never be mistaken for a lack of class. Every contestant brought something different to the competition, and each deserves respect.
Contestant #2 looked amazing in swimwear and you can absolutely say she deserved that award without tearing another young woman down.
At the end of the day the judges made their decision and Asha earned the title. Congratulations to all three contestants for representing themselves and the Virgin Islands with courage and grace. ????
As for height, that's one attribute no one can control. International pageants look for much more than height they also value intelligence, confidence, presence, communication, and purpose. We have every confidence that Asha will represent the Virgin Islands with excellence.

Actually don't bother it really doesn't even matter.
A chaperone can only do so much. Once a contestant steps onto that stage it's her preparation, confidence, poise, and performance that determine the outcome.
Saying Asha had previous titles isn't a valid reason to diminish this win. Contestant #1 also had pageant experience so what's your point? Experience doesn't hand you a crown you still have to earn it.
At the end of the day the judges have spoken the people of the Virgin Islands have embraced the decision and Asha is Miss BVI 2026. Congratulations Asha and all the best during your reign. ???? for the WIN!!!
The scholarship is exactly that an investment in education. The vehicle is a tool to help the reigning queen fulfill her duties throughout her year of service. These prizes weren't handed out because there were three contestants; they were the advertised prizes that every contestant competed for.
She didn't "make off like a bandit." She competed she won and she earned every prize that came with the title.
