Esther N. Fraser new Horse Owners’ Assoc. PRO
Ms Fraser will be the fourth PRO of the Association in about three years.
Virgin Islands News Online spoke to Ms Fraser who said she was optimistic about promoting the activities of the Virgin Islands Horse Owners’ Association.
“As the new PRO my role is to give more light and press to the different activities, not only horse racing but also fundraising activities, and some of the different initiatives that we are promoting and trying to take that in a new direction to ensure that we get optimal coverage, including on established social media such as Facebook and Twitter.
“We want to make sure that we are looking at all the avenues of promotion and PR,” Ms Fraser stated.
Fraser in, Dawson out
Andre ‘Shadow’ Dawson, who on December 9, 2014 was nominated and elected to serve as the body’s PRO when the Association held its election of office bearers, resigned from the post nearly a month ago, becoming the third person to leave the position in about three years.
Paul A. Hewlett, current acting Director of Youth Affairs and Sports, and Craig A. Lake aka 'DJ Push Pop', have both served in the capacity of PRO for the Association over the past three years and had both left the position.
Dawson, a professional photographer and sports enthusiast, had confirmed to this news site that he had quit as PRO.
“I asked to serve, they had their election. I don’t know how their election [went]. But I was nominated and elected PRO]. [However] I quit. It was because of philosophical differences with the President,” he said, speaking with this news site on March 4, 2015.
Karen B. Smith-Aaron was elected as President for a third consecutive year.

When people live in a box, they never see the wider picture. She don't need to know anything about horse racing to promote the races... At least she show she got good intentions.
