As for entry into the BVIBF Summer League, all the school players have been hard at training under Head Coach of the Junior Rams, Bryant Thomas.

“It is a significant move for the School,” he said. “It’s been over 20 years since we entered teams and if we can be competitive and reach the play offs then I will be happy.”

A lot of the students have been affiliated with Clubs and Coaches, but this year they wanted to represent the School. “A lot of the players are also first timers,” said Bryant.

Some key players though have starred in BD Basketball including Romain Minott and Dominic Adams and the "left handed Mumba".

Kevon Lettsome also known as “Shaq”, got his nickname for playing at East End where he was likened to Kobe Bryant commented, “I am looking forward to playing and coaching for the School. The Hawks will be a game I’m looking forward to and if anyone beats us they will need to be the Champs.”

Minott is looking forward to the league season with great excitement. “I want us to be competitive; we have to come out as one and play as a team. The training has been intense and we will be ready for the games.”

The three teams are known as the Rams, The Junior Rams and the Yellow Rams.

Rhennie Phipps, who is also on the coaching staff stated, “What we are doing right now is great. It’s a great experience for them. We have been planning this for a while now and another goal is to start playing against neighboring Schools in St Thomas and St Croix.”
