ESHS goes to online schooling due to flooding on campus

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Students of Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) will be taught remotely today, Wednesday, May 8, 2024, after a sudden heavy downpour left the campus flooded on May 7, 2024.

The decision to activate the school’s remote learning plan was conveyed to parents yesterday.

“As a result of the flooding that occurred on our campus during the torrential rains this afternoon, Tuesday, 7th May, 2024, the Elmore Stoutt High School will be activating its remote leaming plan on Wednesday 8th May, 2024.

Clean up exercise

“We will be closely monitoring the situation on campus and conducting a thorough clean up of the affected spaces,” the letter to parents stated.

ESHS said students seeking community service hours are invited to come in and assist with the clean up.

“We will provide an update on the resumption of face-to-face sessions as soon as feasible,” the latter stated.

Some businesses in Road Town were also affected by flooding yesterday.

70% chance of rain today- DDM

Meanwhile, DDM said moisture and instability in association with a persistent upper-level trough continues to generate periods of cloudiness showers across the island.

It said the weather today will see cloudy skies with a 70 percent or high chance of showers.

    you need to open your other eye , it's more like a concentration camp , no offence , but we are in the 21st century , the people who designed and yhose who OKed it , only shows they lacked creativity and vision for the future
