ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Nearly a year and a half after he turned himself over to police, 19-year-old Erick Rabsatt has been charged in relation to the accident that claimed the life of motor scooter rider Ryan Adams, 20, at Duff’s Bottom, Tortola, on October 23, 2019.

According to reports reaching our newsroom, Rabsatt was charged yesterday, March 15, 2021, for Causing Death by Dangerous Driving and Perverting the Course of Justice.

Rabsatt had allegedly fled the scene of the accident but turned himself over to police days after.

The driver was reportedly operating a truck (licence plate: CM 6493), heading east in the direction of Road Town, when it became involved in an accident with a motor scooter (MC 1207) in the vicinity of Island Department Store.

The rider of the motor scooter, Ryan Adams, 20, of Sea Cows Bay, succumbed to his injuries on October 24, 2019, at Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

      Is it just that alyo like jump.on officers case or don't have nothing better to say. A man driving the opposite direction on a ONE WAY road and get knocked down and you want someone get charge for driving on thr correct lane in rhe correct direction stewps its dad what happen but why the officer should get charge for the foolishness he was doing

      Yes I am sure several persons had just spoken to the young man about driving on that side of the road and told him stop doing foolishness on the road and he did it again

        It doesn't matter it he was on the right or the wrong side of the road. Due care needs to be provided by all drivers on the road no matter what. We are all humans. In addition, if a life is gone because of lack of due care, obviously weather right or wrong and you done it you should be punished. So they do need some punishment of some sort, it doesn't matter. You can't do for 1 and not for all and that is the biggest issue in this country. We are tooo biased because of who we are and who we know.

        Sickening. This entire territory need some serious prayer warriors!
