LOWER ESTATE, Tortola, VI- The Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change, currently located above One Mart Supermarket in Lower Estate, is soon to relocate to Palm Grove House.

According to the Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency (RDA), work is now underway for the office renovations for the Ministry to be relocated to the 4th floor of Palm Grove House.

Following the recent contract signing between the RDA and Vanterpool’s Construction, demolition works have commenced to prepare the space for the upcoming upgrades.

Modern, functional workspace

The renovation, according to the RDA, will transform the existing office into a modern, functional workspace designed to support the work of the Ministry.

"Given the location of the works on the 4th floor, safety measures have been carefully implemented to ensure a secure working environment for the construction team while minimising disruption to other occupants of Palm Grove House," the RDA stated.

As the project progresses, the RDA said it will continue to monitor the works closely to ensure they are carried out safely and efficiently.

That location above One Mart was always a poor choice for a government office. No elevator access and the set of stairs to get up there was terrible.

When do these people plan to move back into the complex? They need to stop wasting money on unnecessary rent so that the funds can go towards important infrastructure e.g. roads, water & sewage. We are tired of the wastage from consecutive governments. At this point, they are all the same.

First of all, there is not enough space in the Admin Govt Complex for all of the Government Offices and that is a fact. Secondly, why is it Talktolians always hating on Born BVIslanders who put their money to good use and invest in Commercial property rental. A true Business owner doesnt invest in commercial properties for government to rent as Government is the worst tenants. They don't and can't afford insurance, they dont like service charge fees, their contracts are only for 3 years. To the 15 persons who liked this comment, if you all stop doing your nails, hair, eyelashes, BBL, going bar hopping and buying expensive rides and rims, you will will learn something, invest wisely and put your money to work for you. Everyone can own their business, so if Patsy, Ritter and Romney put their money to work for them, why hate, appreciate that your own is moving on up, maybe one day, one day, they will throw the rope down the ladder for you to climb. But then again, we are so self minded here, you wont take the rope and stay in the dumps. Elevate yourself and your mind.

Is this why mark is running again? He knew that government was moving out of his building? And why move the office to put it in another rented space. Finish the complex.

    @: “To another bad debt”

Font the things you mentioned the lower classes spend or ‘invest’ as you say are the exact material things that these beneficiaries of government office rentals spend on. New boats, new vehicles (Lexus etc.) and trips etc. who to blame? Political parties have to repay their investors. Contracts and rents are but a couple of means to this end.
