HUNTUM’S GHUT, Tortola, VI – Two young businessmen in the entertainment industry will on Monday July 13, 2015 make a donation of an undisclosed sum of money to the Family Support Network (FSN) to enable it to continue its work despite its budgetary challenges.

This was disclosed at a dinner and hang which the two hosted for FSN and which took place at Vision Club in Huntum’s Ghut on the main island of Tortola last night July 11, 2015.

One half of the duo Warren D. Wintz speaking go this news site said that even through their contribution might be a drop in the bucket, they realise that every little that the FSN receives comes in handy to help someone. The other half is Kacie V. Samson aka Dj Millennium King.

Together they call themselves New Vibes Entertainment and this is not the first time they are treating the FSN staff to dinner nor making a donation as they had also done so last year.

“This is the second time we have done this…last year was a success and this year it is somewhat of a success. Not a lot of sponsors came aboard but the few that came on board were very helpful,” Wintz said.

He explained that the money to be donated are proceeds from a fund raising cricket match played on Father's Day on June 21, 2015.

“But today we said given the opportunity of this location, we got FSN to come in for tonight. So we did a dinner for them and was a wonderful dinner to thank the fans for coming out also to watch the cricket teams play and to have fun and so on,” Wintz said.

“As we said an undisclosed sum will be given to FSN from the [cricket match] thanks to sponsors like LIME, Road Town Wholesale, Caribbean Cellars, Tool Town, The Paint Factory, Honourable Archibald C. Christian and Honourable Marlon A. Penn (R8) among others,” he said.

In response to the gesture from New Vibes Entertainment, Dr. Sylvia M. Simmonds, Director of the Family Support Network said that it is always good when persons and organisations give to FSN and such aid is always welcome.

“I recognise that they can help make a difference in the lives of our clients and this organisation has been quite helpful in doing fundraisers and with those funds we could maybe house someone for a month. The money might not be a large quantity but it could make a difference in the lives of persons,” she said.

I plead to the government to assist FSN to obtain a more accessible and upgraded office. No, I am not an FSN staff but I find it rather important that an office that seeks to help the those in needs are in dire straits itself and urgently needs assistance in terms of a more suitable office space.
