Election billboard belonging to VIP's Luce D. Hodge-Smith reportedly vandalised
The billboard, located in Road Town across the road from the Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital, was reportedly hit down by a vehicle, according to Mrs Hodge-Smith, speaking to our newsroom today, April 8, 2023.
“I was driving by and I saw it down... it's strong, not even the wind can blow it down, and there’s actually some vehicles track like it was purposely destroyed,” she added.
Mrs Hodge-Smith said she strongly believes the billboard was vandalised, given the level of destruction and splinters present; however, she said she will still be pushing forward with her campaign.

“Whoever did it I have no idea why they would want to destroy my billboard, but I am of the view that it was purposely done,” she said while adding that she intends to run a clean campaign.
Just a short distance away from the damaged VIP billboard, a National Democratic Party (NDP) billboard stood untouched.
Mrs Hodge-Smith said her billboard costs an estimated $350 and she is currently unable to say the cost of the repairs and the full extent of damages; however, she told our news center that the billboard will be repaired and re-erected after the Easter holidays.
