ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Eklund Z. Adams was crowned 2025 Calypso Monarch when the competition was held at Charlie Neil Frett Festiville in Road Town, Tortola on July 26, 2025.

Under his stage name, Officer Adams, Eklund won the crowd and the judges over with his songs, "Set good examples" and "Victims crying out".

Young Blood was seeking to defend his crown, but had to settle for the Second Runner Up position.

Sistah Joyce was First Runner Up.

Other calypsonians who took part were Veteran Le-Le, King Paido, and Miss Understood.

The competition was held as part of the 71st Virgin Islands Emancipation Festival.

    We had a show...Next year should be greater, with lot more participants with a one song elimination..In a hall like Pancake Paradise or Duff Bottom. Either one is appropriate for next year semis one song elimination "Emancipation focus"

    TURN DOWN THAT STUPIDLY LOUD SOUND SYSTEM ON THE STAGE!!!!!

    LOUD IS NOT BEST….SOUNDS RIDICULOUS!!!

    The artists are screaming over the band’s loudness and you’re disturbing the surrounding neighborhoods including up in the hills all into the morning.
