Early morning shooting injures one

Officers at the Road Town police station are investigating the incident .
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – An altercation in the vicinity of the High Court around 3:45 am today, January 1, 2012 resulted in a young woman being taken to Peebles Hospital for a bullet wound.

According to reports reaching Virgin Islands News Online, a fight ensued between two men and shots were fired. One of the bullets reportedly ricocheted - grazing the woman.

It is not clear where the bullet impacted but this news agency understands the injury sustained is not life threatening.

As of the time of publication, not one was arrested.

Police are still investigating the matter.
