FISH BAY, Tortola, VI- In the true spirit of the season, Drakes Traders Limited has made over $17,000 in donations to the Family Support Network (FSN) and Mentoring Anointed Leaders Everywhere (MALE) BVI.

The donations, as part of the company’s annual seasonal donations programme, were made on December 10, 2025, at Drakes Traders’ Fish Bay location.

$10K for FSN

Drakes Traders Ltd’s donation of $10,000 to FSN reaffirmed its “longstanding commitment to supporting individuals and families in need across the Virgin Islands”, a press release from the company said.

The donations will assist FSN in restocking its community pantry and supporting its wide range of essential services, including emergency shelter and food assistance, professional counselling, and job placement support for individuals and families affected by domestic abuse and other crises.

FSN Case Manager, Ms Dorolie Donovan, said, “Seasonal support such as this allows us to respond quickly and meaningfully to the needs of our clients, particularly during a year when many charities have experienced a decline in donations.”

This continued commitment from Drakes Traders, she added, reassured them that their vital work remains supported during these challenging economic times.

$7.5K for MALE BVI

Meanwhile, Mentoring Anointed Leaders Everywhere (MALE) BVI received a $7,500.00 donation and a school holiday job opportunity for a mentee of the organisation, from Drakes Traders Ltd.

This underscores the company’s support of realising “change through practical action”, the press release added, as the donation is an acknowledgement of the company’s “partnership and shared commitment to supporting young men in the territory”.

MALE BVI President, Henderson K. Tittle, expressed sincere appreciation for the support, saying he was overwhelmed by the generosity of the donation and what it means for the organisation.

“The financial contribution, coupled with the offer of a school holiday job to one of our mentees, sends a powerful message of belief, opportunity and practical support. The funds help us with our many initiatives, and the real-life experiences such as this help our young men build confidence, responsibility and a vision for their future.”

The funds will support MALE BVI’s ongoing programmes, including mentorship workshops, counselling sessions and community-based initiatives aimed at instilling values of discipline, respect and resilience.

Drakes Traders is proud to support

Managing Director of Drakes Traders, Mr Christian Esser, said the company views its seasonal giving as an important part of its role in the community.

“The Family Support Network provides vital services to some of the most vulnerable members of our community, and we are proud to support their work, particularly during the holiday season….We see the value in organisations like MALE BVI that are actively shaping the next generation of leaders.

Martire Rodriguez, a 20-year-old student of the Elmore Stoutt High School and MALE BVI mentee, was the recipient of the job opportunity.

“Providing financial support is important, but I am equally pleased to be able to offer work experience to this young man, providing him with gainful employment and valuable life skills,” Mr Esser said.
