Dr Kedrick D. Pickering to contest elections as At Large candidate
Dr Pickering; however, has not yet decided which political party he will run with.
The former Deputy Premier broke the news last night, September 22, 2022, during his public meeting at the Stickit in Long Look.
Willing to support 'fresh' candidate in D7
"I am standing here before you tonight to tell you that since I spoke here on the 6th of April, I have changed in my mind about my approach to politics and I am announcing this evening that I will be running in the next elections as an At Large Territorial candidate," he said adding, "And ultimately I will support somebody in this district who is fresh, full of energy and can take on the issues in this district.
"But I know that I have the knowledge, the experience and the expertise to help navigate this country through its difficult issues."
Some of the issues he alluded to have to do with the United Kingdom (UK), as well as issues on the regional and international scenes. "The issue that confronts us with respect to the post pandemic world, the issues that affect us with climate change, whether you believe climate change exists or not," the former Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration stated.
'I am begging you for a vote'
Dr Pickering was also not shy to beg the community to vote for him.
"This is what I want to say to you tonight, hear this loud and clear, when the elections come around you will have your five votes. You can vote for who you want in the district, you can do that and I will support somebody also. But I am going to ask every single person in my community, every single person, whether you like me, you hate me, you vote for me the last time, you want to see me in politics or not, I am begging you for a vote, one of your At Large votes in the next elections."
Dr Pickering also said he had not yet joined a party but he was going to, rather than running independently.
"I am going to tell you that as this campaign heats up, that I am going to be running with a group of people, whoever that is."
'I am prepared to do a reset'
Stating that he has listened to all of the politics and the criticisms, Dr Pickering said he has listened well and is ready for a reset.
"I've been in politics for 20 years and I have made my mistakes and everything that went along with it but I am prepared to do my part to help my community and help my country. I am prepared to do a reset," Dr Pickering stated.

But what has the Doctor done in 20 years to be considered a star of the East?
For Spiritual, social,and economic security. However what have been done have be done. We cannot eracethe past, but we can foster better relationship with ourselves, and negotiate with the UK fearlessly, and honestly going forward. This is the reality: RESET not, or be prepared for further regrets. Choose wisely or continue to regret foolishly.

REALLY??!!.How about some dam jobs, further education and employment skills for those lazy local and expat people in your district and the wider Virgin Islands? , How about fixing the dam road? Reset what? You were in there 20 freakin years, look at the Pot holes and garbage in your district and the wider virgin islands? Sick of all you all.
AF is a personal friend of yours and you sat and watched all the abuse and damage and you said nothing

What is it. Have you missed traveling so much that you want another 20 years. It’s a shame that you should even want to consider going back to run.
Whether or not some of us have already chosen with Dr. Kedrick C. Pickering that we as a people need an urgent RESET of our own attitude among ourselves and a new and fair negocialibke dialogue with the UK government,he is right. We cannn afford to continue doing things the same as we were and expect better results. A reset of our mental, spiritual, social, and economical mindset must be first reseated before good governance could be achieved in the BVI.
Let us all reset our mind, think differently andmanagedour affair wisely for a better future for ourselves, and our families, and neighbor's families and all those that will comes to visit our beatiful country.
