Dr Karl Dawson appointed consultant @ Education Ministry

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Dr Karl Dawson has been appointed a consultant at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture to handle various matters, including policy, succession planning and tertiary education.

This was confirmed via a Government Information Service release from the Ministry where subject Minister, Dr. the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) said that there are significant areas of weakness in the Ministry and as such, Dr Dawson’s extensive knowledge, expertise and experience are valuable resources in progressing the Ministry's ambitious agenda.

As part of his duties, Dr Dawson’s will be assisting with the implementation of the Agriculture and Fisheries Marketing Authority Bill; and Liaising with the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College on the implementation of the Teacher Education Institute.

Dr Dawson will provide support to Ministry projects 

He will also be providing support on matters of accreditation, mentorship of new leadership, planning (including strategic planning), programme development, programme review and succession planning.

The release noted that Dr Dawson is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Higher Education Administration.

He has served at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College for 24 years and was the President of the Institution for seven years and recently held the position of President at the Anguilla Community College from 2017 to 2020 and also serves as the President for Towers Educational Consultants (BVI).

As part of his role, Dr Dawson will also liaise with regional and international organizations on scholarship opportunities for Virgin Islanders, especially the education sector; and collaborate with the Ministry of Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration to facilitate work readiness training.

      Consultant for what...Now is not the time for this..The country is broke and this is unnecessary expences at this time,,Presently we are struggling to get Sea Port open because they don't have Money,,,Some people still aint get their Covid help from Social Security money,,,, Wise up,, Put this consultancy money into something of a higher priority,,,,Maybe later on when things get better, and money start flowing then you can bring him in...,

    Government still hiring their consultant friends and the unemployed can't get a job because of a hiring freeze. Clearly you all find money for what you want. In both VIP and NDP once your a party member that lost in the election you are automatically rewarded greatly sucks in this place.
