BELLE VUE, Tortola, VI- A downed utility pole has caused the temporary closure of the Belle Vue Road.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), in a public advisory this evening, Friday, February 6, 2026, said the downed pole is obstructing the roadway. 

It added that police officers and personnel from the BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) are currently on site managing the situation and working to clear the obstruction safely. 

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes until further notice.

The RVIPF thanked the public for their cooperation and patience.

    Has electricity communicated to the public on the nature of the incident, what is being done, and more importantly an estimated time when we can expect power back. That would be really appreciated.
