ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Whilst all recent basketball talk may have centered around the BVI Tropical Shoot Out, the Sea Cows Bay Basketball Club’s Clifton Forbes first 3rd District Christmas Tournament concluded at the Save the Seed Energy Centre, Duffs Bottom last Wednesday, December 18, 2013.

In the first Championship game featuring the 7-10 year olds, Albion’s Rebounders beat Parsons Punishers 33-32, in overtime.

Malaki Smith top scored with 30 of his team’s points, adding 12 rebounds, 5 steals and 8 blocks. He was also named as MVP.

For Parsons, Stephan Delion scored 14 points with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.

In the 11-12 year old Championship game Pleasant Valley’s Doom Squad defeated Cherry Ghut’s Thrillers 45-39, led by Enrique Jafarally, who scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals. Elroy Bollers contributed 12 points, 9 rebounds, 6 steals, 1 assist, 1 block and K’Andre Clark finished with 8 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists.

For the Ghut, K’Ntenay Maduro scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and Shamouri Robinson finished with 11 points, 3 rebounds and 4 steals. Elroy Bollers was named as MVP.

The 13-16 age group Championship title went to Nibb’s Estate Dribblers who beat Palestina Playerz 88-68 mainly courtesy of MVP Akeem Nibbs who scored 37 points.

Nibbs also added 10 rebounds, 3 steals and 11 assists in his night’s work, whilst getting good support from Llewellyn Dasent, who scored 25 points, 13 rebounds and 4 steals. Dillon Etienne also had a good game in scoring 13 points, 8 rebounds, 1 steal and 8 assists.

For Palestina, Justin Solomon finished with 21 points, 13 rebounds, 1 steal, 2 assists; Nikita Naval 20 points, 13 rebounds, 4 steals and Dekembe Parsons 14 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 assist.
