Dominica police on Sunday say seven United States nationals, who arrived on the island on three private planes, are now assisting their investigations into an undisclosed matter.

The police have so far given no details regarding the reasons behind the detention of the Americans who were all picked up at the Exotica Cottages in Giraduel.

But media reports said that among those being questioned include a medical practitioner, an engineer, a Court of Appeal Judge and a pilot.

The reports said that the United States Embassy in Barbados has been notified of the situation.
