“Dog face” comment sends man on alleged assault spree
Glenroy Industrious made a court appearance yesterday February 22, 2012 before Magistrate Tamia Richards, and pleaded not guilty to indecent language, resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer and common assault.
According to court records, Industrious allegedly attacked his ex-girlfriend on July 31, 2011 in the vicinity of Simply Delicious, an eatery in Road Town. The court heard that Denise Callwood had asked the defendant, when she was at the Botanical Gas Station with her three children, if he wanted to see his daughter.
His refusal to see or speak to his daughter, prompted the VC to text him stating that he had a dog face.
It is alleged that Industrious saw the VC in the Simply Delicious area, where he began to hurl expletives at her and hit her in the face while she was in the vehicle.
The court also heard he allegedly attempted to choke her, but she was rescued from any further assault when someone pulled Industrious from the vehicle.
A report was made to the Road Town Police station and while there Industrious arrived and allegedly hit the VC. A female officer intervened, and the defendant allegedly hit her as well.
The Purcell resident is on $20,000 bail, and will be represented by Patrick Thompson.
