Doctors on strike @ Peebles Hospital over pay!

The sick-out or unofficial strike at Peebles Hospital began around 9:00 AM this morning February 20, 2017 and has doctors represented from all specialties.
It is our newsroom’s understanding that the doctors have many grievances, including lack of communication, disrespect for doctors’ views and the issues of pay packages for local doctors.
It is believed that the BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) has been in limbo following its Chairman, John I. Cline, being forced out by Premier Dr The Honourable D. Orlando Smith (AL).
It is unclear how this sickout is affecting the delivery of medical care and if other medical staff will be joining the industrial action.
Our newsroom will bring more details as they unfold.

From what I can see if that strike last long the hospital will definately be in trouble because I see 2 surgeons and a few medical doctors the nurses need to joint as well, instead of fuss with each other make the government put their money where their mouth is. A have a question how many local nurses have the hospital loss in 2016, and it will lose more

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me. Martin Niemöller
When white doctors in England stopped working last year, you called the courageous and fighting for equal rights.
All these people, who commented here and posted nonsupport to these colored doctors of the island, are most likely blacks and DESCENDANTS OF SLAVES! And you wonder why blacks are still having slave mentality?
selfish and misguided behaviour which ultimately destroys themselves and the black community . Just another day in the life of blacks with no noteworthy purpose and self knowledge or contribution.
Pay the poor doctors and nurses in the hospital good money that they can work to the best of their ability. Too much politics in that hospital some of those drunkards need to go.
I hope now when they go on strike for their own good I hope you all renew their contracts, you all are very spiteful when it comes to things like this.
Our eyes are watching you in a time like this.
Wake up!
