DMV to launch pilot Hybrid Online Vehicle Renewal Programme
The pilot set to begin on May 11, 2026, will be for May only and promises faster processing, reduced wait times, and easy online document uploads.
Described by the DMV as a “faster, smarter way to renew your vehicle license,” the pilot programme is open to all interested persons.
Steps involved
The process for the online vehicle renewal consists of six steps, and vehicle owners are encouraged to upload information two or more days before expiration.
Step 1: Take your vehicle to any ore-approved garage for inspection. Step 2: Pay an inspection fee of $20.00 to the garage. Step 3: Upon passing, you will receive a garage report. Step 4: The garage report, along with your insurance policy, will be uploaded to the designated online platform (details will be provided). Step 5: A DMV representative will contact you to finalise payment. Step 6: Once completed, simply visit the DMV to collect your decal.
The DMV said the processing time is two days from the receipt of all required documents. Interested persons can sign up by sending an email including their full name and phone number to dmv@gov.vg.
Efforts to get further details from Minister for Communications and Works Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5) and Acting Commissioner of the Department of Disaster Management (DMV) Mr Gregory Skelton were futile.

Payment should be online, perhaps the garage doing the test could apply the decal, what about having a national insurance database so there is no need to upload documents but the DMV would just be able to see whether you are insured (this would also assist the police).
It's a start, but it could be so much better with a little bit more thought and imagination.
when ANYONE RUN THE VIN number ON AI or any other site vehicles is not the same year it's been sold as.
what the DMV can do about this.
