SOUTH VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- More than 40 children attending the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports (DYAS) annual basketball camp on Virgin Gorda had the opportunity to meet and learn from Los Angeles Lakers player from the Virgin Islands, D’Moi M. Hodge, today, Monday, July 24, 2023.

The young ones were able to get a feel of the rigours of Hodge’s training routine while engaging with him and his trainer Tyshawn Patterson.

Hodge had previously said he was “eager” to give back to the community that groomed him into the young man he is today.

At the start of the day, Hodge did his daily routine workout as a demonstration and, thereafter, his trainer engaged the children in basketball techniques.

B/ball Shootout Competition

In closing off the day, Hodge’s trainer had the children participate in a knock out shoot-out competition, which was won by JahJah Daniel.

Daniel’s prize was a Hodge NBA sleeve and a pair of socks.

Hodge is also slated to attend the DYAS basketball camp at Multi-Purpose Sports Complex on Tortola tomorrow, July 25, 2023.
