SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI – As the Tre Erickson District BD Basketball League rolled into Sea Cows Bay on Monday April 2, 2012, the hosts U13’s claimed a win, but the U16’s went down fighting.

Carl Alexander played a pivotal role for District 3 in the 30-28 win scoring 8 points and picking up 3 rebounds. Timothy McLean added 6 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal.

District 2 had been held scoreless in the 1st quarter, but bounced back to make the half time score 12-13 in their favour. District 3 pulled ahead in the third and held on for the 2 point victory.

District 2 were led by Cymoi George and D’moi Hodge who both had 10 points, 2 rebounds and 1 steal.

In the evening’s second game, U16’s Jmoi Liburd and Romain Minott combined for 28 of District 2’s point in a 45-37 win against their District 3 counterparts.

District 2 were pretty much in control of the game from the start with the points margin never getting closer than 4. The 1st quarter ended 14-8 to D2 and at half time the margin had increased to 23-14.

In the third, District 3 mounted a comeback reducing the deficit to 31-27, but when it mattered most District 2 had too much shooting power.

Liburd added 4 rebounds and 3 steals to his night’s work and Minott 2 rebounds.

For District 3 Justin Solomon scored 16 points with 2 rebounds and 3 steals, Nathan Rodney added 7 points 7 rebounds and 1 steal.

In games held over the past weekend and in the U10’s Division, District 9 defeated district 2, 11 – 3. Samoiri Leonard scored 4 points, 3 rebounds and Jason Levon 3 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal. For District 2, Makelsha Lanns scored 3 points.

District 5 defeated District 4, 22 – 7. J'Quan Bodkin picked up 8 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal, whilst T'Quan Bodkin had 6 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal. For District 4, Jomoi Levons scored 7 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals.

District 8 defeated District 3, 9 – 7. Makimbo top scored with 4 points, 6 rebounds and 1 steal. Donaldson 4 points, 3 rebounds and for District 3, Kiandre Clarke scored 3 points and 2 rebounds.

In the Under 13 age group, District 4 defeated District 6 23 – 13 with Ryan Richardson scoring 6 points, 1 rebound and making 1 steal. Renrick Massac added 4 points and 1 steal. For District 6, Kavin Robin scored 6 points, 3 rebounds and Kajero Ronmey 3 points and 3 rebounds.

District 8 defeated District 3, 23 – 4, with Lenroy grant scoring 8 points and 2 steals, Akeem Bradshaw 4 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Carl Alexander scored 3 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals for District 3 and Gianni Maduro 1 point and 3 rebounds.

In the Under 16 Division, District 9 defeated District 8 45 – 19. Lishaquah Fahie recording 10 points, 1 rebound, 2 steals and Khyron Frett 6 points, 2 rebounds and 4 steals. Elvette Dore top scored for District 8 with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 1 steal. Damian Hooper added 5 points, 4 rebounds and 9 steals.

District 7 defeated District 3, 27 – 25. For District 7, Eric Albert had 10 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal and Colen Corea 7 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals. For District 3, Nathan Rodney scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals and Nikal Todman added 4 points, 2 rebounds and 3 steals.

        maybe they cannot read..you know they do not like sea cows bay so even when we win they say we loose just like Frazer won and they say he loose..lol

    It is indeed a pleasure to see the BD basket ball tournament for yet another year. Bash Brewley sir, you are doing a good job with our youths. We need more people like you who are real and humble to help in the direction of our youths...great job to you and Mr. Fraser for the support to BD
