District 4 shows early intent in BD Basketball!

District 5 had the narrowest of victory margins, 12-10, over District 2 as the Tre Erickson District King League got underway at the weekend.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The Tre Erickson BD Basketball District King League got underway over the weekend with District 4 U13’s winning both their games.

On Saturday March 24, 2012, they defeated District 3, 32-22. Kedrick Matthew led the way with 9 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steels and 4 assists along with Jackhoy Walwyn, who added 6 points, 3 rebounds and 7 steals.

For District 3, Akeem Nibbs recorded 14 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steel. Thomas Richardson added 6 points, 2 rebounds and 1 steel.

Then on Monday March 26, 2012, they returned to the court in Long Bush to take care of District 8, 23-16. Matthew again topping the charts with 7 points, 1 steal and 1 assist. Ryan Richardson added 6 points and 1 rebound.

Top scorers for District 8 were Kai Turnbull with 5 points, 1 rebound and 2 steals, as well as Lenroy Grant with 4 points and 1 rebound.

In other matches, District 5 under 10’s beat District 2, 12-10, thanks to Malique Malone with 4 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals. Tedeek Rodgers added 4 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals and J'Quan Bodkin had 4 points and 2 rebounds.

For district 2 Makelsha Lanns recorded 8points 7 rebounds and 1 steel and Isaiah Thomas 2 points, 1 rebounds and 1 steel

District 9 defeated District 8, 23-14 with Dequan George finishing on 7 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steel. Kahmani Caul added 7 points and 1 steel. For District 8, Drexston Gaton scored 6 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist.

IN the under 13’s, District 2 defeated District 9, 21-20. Demoi Hodge scored 10 points 4 rebounds and 5 steals along with Cymio George 7 points, 2 rebounds and 3 steals for District 2. Andre Rhymer’s 6 points and 5 rebounds was the best effort for District 9.

District 8 defeated District 6, 28-21. The top scores for District 8 were Kajero Romney 4 points, 9 rebounds and 1 steel and Kawin Robin 4 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals.

For District 6, Lenroy Grant had 8 points, 2 rebounds and 7 steals.

In the under 16’s, District 5 defeated District 8 with 40-37, with Kevin Bodkin scoring 13 points, 2 rebounds and 3 steals. Terique Wattley added 8 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals.

Top scorers for District 8 were Glendale Layne with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals and Mackebo Fahie 12 points and 2 rebounds.

District 9 defeated District 6, 29-27.

District 8 defeated District 4, 32- 24 thanks in large part to Mackebo Fahie who scored 10 points, 2 rebounds 3 steels. Glendale Layne also contributed 8 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.

For District 4, Tahj Malone scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Kelvin Eleuthere added 5 points and 6 rebounds.
