ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Territory welcomed the Disney Treasure to Tortola today, Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

The Treasure, Disney Cruise Line’s newest and most innovative ship, made its inaugural call to the Virgin Islands with 2978 passengers and 1713 crew.

According to the BVI Port Authority (BVIPA), in a press release, a plaque exchange ceremony onboard the ship marked the occasion, with Captain Marco Nagara, Minister for Communications and Works Honourable Kye M. Rymer (R6), BVI Ports Authority officials, VI Government representatives, Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) representatives and Disney’s local agent commemorated the inaugural.

The ceremony, according to the BVIPA, underscored the strong partnership between Disney Cruise Line and the VI, a marquee destination on the Treasure’s Caribbean itineraries.

The Disney Treasure is a marvel of modern cruising, offering state-of-the-art amenities, sustainability-focused features, and Disney’s signature storytelling magic. According to the BVIPA, its arrival highlights the Virgin Islands’ ongoing commitment to providing authentic and excellent experiences for cruise visitors.

      To see what? To drive on what? To do WHAT? Those people look so unimpressed by the time they get past the banks!! The raods getting a little lick and a promise that wouldn't last 2 days past Sunday!! The bush cuy should be done island wide at least every quarter at minimum to keep them same tourist and US from getting slapped with bush!! I want us to thrive but lord man we in shambles!!!

    While we showing off over one new ship which is good. ship. Across the waters in SK they having 2 new one a week and 3-4 daily. They start after us and lon gone passed us, hey are having the Icon every other week. Don't understand why we can't see the need for another longer deeper Cruise Dock, the location is there, West of the existing one...The Rich hate cruise ships and passengers but they put food on a lot of poor people lives even changed some lives from poof to middle class and rich..that's a fact.
