‘Disappointed’ customer allegedly beat & robbed lap dancer
Smith, a fisherman who hails from the East End community, pleaded not guilty to the charges yesterday Friday September 16, 2016 when he appeared in the Magistrates Court at John’s Hole, Tortola, before Senior Magistrate Tamia N. Richards.
The court heard that on May 14, 2016 the accused man was at a night club downstairs in the UP’s building. He allegedly paid one of the exotic dancers $100 for a private dance. He was led to a private room where after spending some 20 minutes someone knocked on the door indicating that their time had expired.
‘Disappointed’
The prosecution told the court that Smith was disappointed with the time allotted and indicated that if he couldn’t get some additional time he wanted his $100 back. He was told if he needed more time he would have to pay more. He refused and he was not given the additional time and as such he requested to be refunded his $100.
An argument ensued between him and the female who had given him his 20 minutes for his $100 and the incident got physical, resulting in the victim allegedly receiving superficial injuries. As a result, she pepper sprayed him. During this time, the defendant allegedly grabbed the female’s purse, took out three hundred dollars that was in it and fled the club.
The matter was reported at the Road Town Police Station and the victim was taken to Peebles Hospital where she was treated for multiple injuries, which included damage to the right and left arms, shoulder, neck and forehead.
Later that said morning the accused was met, arrested and charged for the offences and during an interview with police, denied the allegations but said, “I did not intend to harm her. I was just trying to get out of the room because she pepper-sprayed me.” Smith was also taken to Peebles Hospital where he was treated. He was placed on $10,000 station bail.
The court heard that the victim in the matter has since left the territory; however, the case will come up again in court on December 2, 2016.

This is a business..
He was to find out exactly what he was paying for before he ACTED like some big time baller..
Then he paid 100 and stole 300?? And then running away???? Lil p^$$!
The government is responsible for the Prostitution problem as some ministers goes there anyway;
One thing for sure. No one is paying $100 to watch a woman dance regardless how she whine up. Is some form of release he expected and didn't get and that is illegal. Send her back Santo, Manila or wherever she come from.
1. He didn't get to cum yet. he only got the 20 minutes of dance worth $100. That made HARD but mad.
2. He was expecting more after the dance but he work too slow and he time run out. That made him madder.
3. After the knock he say he went soft and everything went downhill from there. That pissed him off.
4. He paid a sex worker for a private dance, not sex. She did her dance (perhaps) and that was it. Who said anything about them having sex? How and where is that illegal? If you go to a drug man place of business and buy 20 empty dime bags from him, have you committed any crime? what's illegal about that?
HE PAID $100 FOR A PRIVATE DANCE, AND THATS WHAT HE GOT. Bottom line. You want more? bring more.
Return ticket buh entertainer ... Strupes
Heffa run gone back where she came from. How can you pepper spray a man and he's able to still find her purse, open it and steal not $100 but $300? Pure for- curry.
You stay deh wi you ish. If it was STX, she would still be there dancjing all now. Struppess.
Are here's things being taxed
Is she in the country legally
What work permit does she have
Why are people bring locked up for marijuana possession and these "*%%$ aren'ft
I was thinking along the same lines... UP put up that building with good intention of providing good, clean recreation for all ages and genders; a wholesome family outlet with movie and drama theaters, food court, ballroom, skating rink, etc. As Landlord, he should not allow his legacy to be tarnished with this sort of business and behaviour. I hope there is some way he can curb this sort of business activity by his tenants without impeding their ability to meet their rent and other business obligations.
The problem with these establishments is they promote a derogatory view of women. How many normal nightclubs exist on Tortola? Sex is promoted on every event flyer with overly sexy females plastered all over news of the nights event. What do 2 scantily clad women have to do with a birthday bash? Why are the DJs who are the main attraction just small heads hidden behind the boobs and buttocks of these sexy ladies? All it can mean is that sex is the main event! Sadly, with all the men frequenting the sex clubs the women at home are forgotten. Rather than lose a husband or boyfriend to their sexual fantasy playing out on a stage or in a backroom the females have countered by joining in, sexing up and competing for the attention.
Women of the BVI are stuck in this competition. Women are no longer regarded with respect. Sex has become a public game. Sadly there are children often born of these games that suffer from the consequences of the lack of respect between men and women. Women, and men have retaliated against one another in violent rage sometimes resulting in death.
It is time to change the laws or rather put some laws in place. There needs to be strict rules when it comes to the sex trade. These strippers and prostitutes hidden behind the term dancers and bartenders need to pass through work permit procedures even the temporary ones. They should all be required to submit to std testing every few months and denied entry if they have aids. They are afterall coming here to engage in some form of sexual activity. The rules of clubs should include strict dos and don'ts including no touching. Lapdances should be dances and no exchange of sexual favours. Enforce that all Lapdances occur in the main room. No backroom activities whatsomever. Limit the sex for money activity to one or two brothel type houses again with strict rules and regulations. Start imposing taxes on the profits of these women and regulate the role of their bosses. Ensure that women are not being pimped out and that no man is profiting from selling a womans body. Whatever cut the woman pays the house for her safety should be regulated.
Legalizing prostitution and or enforcing regulations on the exotic dancers while limiting the number of establishments to a manageable number that can be regulated themselves is really the only wise solution to a once underground trade that has become so much a part of todays culture that it threatens the interactions between males and females as well as the family unit itself. Sometimes the morals and ethics of a society are saved by laws.
