Digicel technician suffers electric shocks while on pole @ West End

WEST END, Tortola, VI- A technician attached to the telecommunications company, Digicel, was injured while working on a pole in Romney Park, West End, on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

According to reports, it was around 4:00 pm that the technician came into contact with a live wire.

Eyewitnesses told our News Centre, the man was seen hanging from the pole in an apparent unconscious state.

‘Responsive’

Our News Centre was also told that the injured man became responsive before he was rushed to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

Power in the West End area, as well as Jost van Dyke, had to be cut as a result of the incident.

Efforts to get a comment from Digicel BVI were unsuccessful up to the time of publication.

    HE HAD A CLOSE SHAVE / HOPE HE GIVE THANKS TO THE MAN UPSTAIRS ( A WORD TO THOSE WHO INDULGE IN DOING OR SAYING THE WRONG TUINGS TO MAKE OR HURT OTHERS / ALWAYS REMEMBER ) IN THE BLINK OF CAN EYE WE CAN BE TAKEN OUT ~ ACCIDENTALLY OR ~ INTENTIONALLY , / SO LET US ALL DO THE RIGHT THING / HOPE YOU RECOVER SOON BRO ????     Wow! Its a very serious incident and hope that he have a full and speedy recovery. There's a need for a more secure method of climbing and been on these poles. Dont they use bucket trucks anymore
