Makes more sense to remove all the weed clogging the swimming beach so that the DI Swim School can actually function.

The private sector has confidence in this government so they give sponsors

It would also make sense to revive the pool project that is languishing in Virgin Gorda. About 90% of its construction costs were paid for with private monies with the (political) promise that the govt would finish it off. This was about 20 or more years ago. Never happened, but the 90% completed pool is still there, right next to Bregado Flax. There is not a single valid reason for not teaching young people growing up in small islands how to swim.

      It’s a real shame.

There have been many people trying to help get the kids to swim in the BVI. A $500 donation gets in the news in Tortola!? Come on people. Let’s get these kids learning to swim… it shouldn’t be so hard for a government to help the youth learn something that will help them in life, and help them learn about the ocean, pollution and living in harmony with nature.

You mean, with all of the businesses on Tortola, only ONE, with a paltry sum of 500 USD, can donate?

And, with such a worthy cause as this?

These business people on Tortola, should be ashamed of themselves!

The Harneys, Westwood, and Riegels, Smith Gore, VP Bank,Banks of every description, drugstores, restaurants, taximen and women, Trust Companies A to Z,Retailers of every sort, Construction Companies, Electricians, Plumbers, every day men and women- NONE of those, and others, can make meaningful contributions to the children?

These business people doing business on Tortola, SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES!!!!

    My goodness!

No wonder the children have no faith in the leadership of these communities!

Get it together, already, business people!!

    Get it together!!
