ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI –The construction of the water transmission line connecting the Diamond Estate and Chalwell Estate is nearing completion.

In a video post on Facebook, Bryant N. Ismael, owner of ABC Plumbing, announced that on Monday, January 12, 2026, the project will enter a new phase with the casting of manholes.

"What we are doing now is building manholes, and we are doing the base, which is the foundation now for the footing of the manhole, and then we are going to put the casting. So the plan is to cast the base on Monday," he explained.

Final connection set for next week

Ismael also mentioned that the final connection will take place next week, explaining, "We have to do the final connection from this pipe, the 12-inch pipe, to the 8-inch pipe that's over there. That would be the final connection to where it's going. Which is a destination, the continuation of the black pipe."

He noted that another manhole is being constructed near Skyworld, where preparations are underway to cast the sides and floor on Monday as well.

"So that's the plan we have for what we are doing here so far. So next week, or late next week, we should have everything wrapped up pretty much.’’

The Diamond Estate and Chalwell Estate water project involves installing new water transmission lines, particularly between these two areas on Tortola, as part of a larger effort to modernise and make the water system resilient post-hurricanes, including upgrades to pump stations like the Diamond Estate facility

Work includes laying new HDPE pipes and cleaning up roads, aimed at improving water supply reliability for residents.
