PORT ZANTE, ST Kitts- Seen as meeting the needs of fishermen as well as providing an alternative loading post for mega yachts in the Eastern Caribbean, Delta Petroleum (Caribbean) Limited has opened its first ever fueling facility at Port Zante in the Federation of St Kitts.

The opening ceremony was held on Friday April 23, 2016 at Port Zante Marina. The new facility will dispense both 91 Octane Gasoline and #2 diesel and will be opened daily from 6 am to 6 pm.

Managing Director of Delta Petroleum, Mr Vernon A. Lake noted that the opening of the facility is indicative of the growth of the company within the region and evidence that Delta Petroleum has confidence in the people and Government of St Kitts and Nevis.

The installation of the fueling facility is seen as a pivotal part in the region as a loading port and as a strategic move on the part of Delta Petroleum.

Regional General Manager of Delta Petroleum and Virgin Islander, Bevis A. Sylvester said the facility will cater to fishermen, mega yachts, and all customers of the marina. He further said Delta Petroleum, in its quest for expansion and growth, intends to reach the length and breadth of St Kitts and the shores of all the Eastern Caribbean countries.

“We are excited to have responded to the needs of the marine community, which includes the fisherman who up to this point did not have access to fuel on the sea. Further, we have alternative loading post for mega yachts other than CSY Marina in the BVI and St Martin. The Port Zante Marina can now operate as a fully functional marina and all amenities now that fuel is available there,” Mr Sylvester told Virgin Islands News Online.

He also thanked Mr Keith Phillip, Operations Manager of Port Zante Development, for facilitating the installation of the facility, which takes into account safety and has a state of the art automated system.

Thanking Mr Lake for always ensuring that all Delta Petroleum's employees are well taken care of, Mr Sylvester concluded by stating that employees are Delta Petroleum’s most important resources and that if the company takes care of its employees then the employees will take care of the customers.
