ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Two days after storming out of the House of Assembly (HoA) on losing another battle with the Premier Natalio D. Wheatley-led Government, the all-male His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition will be holding a press conference today, Thursday, November 2, 2023.

The Opposition, led by Honourable Ronnie W. Skelton (AL), had walked out of the Fifth Sitting of the First Session of the Fifth HoA after it lost a vote on a motion moved by the government side for the reordering of the Order Paper to have the lengthy Questions & Answer Segment pushed back to the end of the proceedings.

Hon Skelton had said in an interview on ZBVI 780 AM on October 31, 2023, that the Opposition was going to meet on November 1, 2023, and would then update the public as to when it would return to the HoA.

The Opposition was absent when it was time for the Question and Answer segment; however, Speaker Hon Corine N. George-Massicote said the Opposition would have to re-submit its questions for the next sitting.

The press conference, to be aired live on the Facebook and YouTube pages of the House of Assembly, will be held from 4:00 PM.

The Opposition and Government are fighting each other while ignoring the real elephant in the room which is the Governor and his UK bosses and their modern day slavery whip of an order in council to suspend a constitution in the 21st century if the BVI do not do what they say, how they say, and when they say to do it even if it is not in the best interest of the people and the economy and culture of the BVI. The Government and Opposition are continuing to fight the WRONG FIGHT!

This opposition is poor. They want to be like the republicans in the USA and be a blockage to the elected government just for the game of politics when they are there for the people to get value for their money and to be a watchdog. Their egos are sickening to me and I can see why they couldn't form a government and they are still reacting to that debacle.

It is simply for political power because in that circle we have ronnie, marlon, turnbull, walwyn not leaving out fraser

    Fraser:
shut down occean conversation a locally owned business for Bi Water(run talk that) yet got the nerve to speak about the lack of water(we U have free time pass through sea cows bay there you can still see the water plant just simply rotten away(your tax money- who shut that water plant down & for what reason

    ronnie, marlon, turnbull and walyn:
that group under NDP squandered millions of the taxpayers money(the plane, the wall, the pier park and not forgetting that 8 million associated with the sewage project up there in east end) play the tape

some of us love to forget the political foolishness
those guys need to get more serious about running our little country because our forefathers worked hard……..London just looking on

The Pier Park was the best thing to happen in the BVI in 30 years, proven fact! The economic value/activity derived as a result of the Pier Park is rivaled by nothing else in the entire BVI, try again.

We all agree the Pier Park is one of the best things happened to the BVI but not for the inflated cost. This made it one of the best robberies in the BVI also....oh...and the 8 million dollar plane.

You forgot about the 600+ acres of Beef Island land that the NDP government allowed to be returned to a foreign investor aka 'real estate agent' and how they almost caused us to lose our fishing industry because of this.

For those who have short memories like some of the present Opposition Members as well as and some of you posting comments against the government for this action to move the questions further down on the agenda of the House of Assembly Sitting, please be mindful of two things:
    1) Ronnie, Myron, Mitch, and Marlon were all members of the NDP who made this action a regular at each Sitting for years when they were in government at every session of the House of Assembly through their boss Orlando and never once did any of them object. So how come all of a sudden the shoe is on the other foot it is a problem. They are only reaping what they sowed.
    2) The action is legal as it is allowed under the laws of the House of Assembly once the majority agrees. It does not mean the questions will not be asked but it will be done later in the proceedings of the House of Assembly. The rules to make this shitlft just needs an approval by the majority and not everyone.

This is nothing new nor nothing illegal. The Opposition needs to sit down in the House and do the people's work and stop this unnecessary show hoping to gain political points. We the people are hurting and need representation, NOT A SHOW!

They could not come together to form the government we gave them. But now they can come together to create noise, mischief, and stir up anger and more division in the country. What a set of people.

All of them in HOA should have walked out long ago when a man who is arrested for corruption and could go jail enter the House to sit down as a Member.

Wherever Mitch, Marlon & Myron is in any organization you can count on confusion and mischief. The only difference is Mryon is more organized with it than the other two.

I am amazed how Myron is the one making the most noise and this man is charged with corruption. He makes Trump look like a joke.

You better believe if it was another elected official arrested and charge like Myron is and Myron was free and clear then Myron would be bringing that up every minute and going after that elected member. Yet Ronnie and all of them seem to be fine with an arrested member on corruption charges leading the charge for integrity.

The opposition has no credibility one of their members has been arrested and charged for government funds over a wall

@2023. I find your comments to be very bias.against the opposition. The same and many other statements could be made of members of the sitting government especially with the $40. million of the taxpayers money that was squandered by this group to their families, friends and cronies without conscience and without accountability. There are faults on both sides of the fence so we must not be too quick to crucify one set and then free the other. Let’s call a spade a spade.
