ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – When Detective Constable (DC) Colis Fraser took to the witness stand before Magistrate Ayanna Baptiste-DaBreo he reflected on the scenario that led to him and colleagues on duty discovering quantities of marijuana in various parts of the home of Treston Brown.

Brown is on trial for being concerned with the supply of some 385 grams of marijuana.

DC Fraser told the court that on January 31, 2013 they went to the home of Brown to conduct a search for a quantity of stolen electrical items. They had the full cooperation of the defendant who willingly allowed them to enter his home.

It was alleged by the Police Officer that it was as they were searching a bedroom in the house they stumbled on a shoe box packed with what they identified as marijuana.

At the time Brown was not alone at the house, his girlfriend was also present. When the substance was shown to them he told the officers that it was old weed which he cannot use. He allegedly said that he had forgotten the controlled drug in the closet.

Further searches of the house resulted in them unearthing other bags with marijuana. This time Brown told the cops that that set was for his personal use. More marijuana was found in the kitchen.

The trial will continue as more witnesses are likely to take the stand for the Crown. Brown is unrepresented in the matter against him.
