David Turnbull faces May trial for robbery
A man was allegedly robbed by Turnbull of an undisclosed sum of money along Waterfront Drive during the robbery. He was later arrested and charged for the offence and placed before the court.
Turnbull’s trial is slated to commence on May 26, 2014 and is expected to last one week. He is represented by attorney Patrick Thompson.
He is currently on $50,000 bail signed with one surety which was granted by Justice Nicole Byer after his attorney made an application before the High Court. As part of his bail conditions, he was ordered to keep the peace and stay out of trouble.
During the opening of the assizes, another robbery accused, Jessroy McKelly was also brought before the High Court. McKelly is currently imprisoned on a conviction of murder. He is represented by attorney Valerie Gordon.
When the matter was raised, Prosecutor Leslie Ann Faulkner related that the Crown is likely to take a particular course of action in relation to the charges in light of his previous matter before the court.
McKelly’s matter is expected to come up for hearing again at the end of May.
It was announced that there are a total of three robbery trials to be heard before the High Court during the May assizes.
