Dallas Mavericks sign VI's D'Moi M. Hodge

Hodge, a 26-year-old guard who stands at 6-4, spent last season with the Greek club Aris Thessaloniki. He began his career as a two-way player for Los Angeles Lakers where he spent time with Anthony M. Davis, D’Angelo Russell and Max Christie, who are now his Mavericks teammates.
According to CBS Sports, Hodge will now try to make an impression at Dallas' training camp this fall.
Last year, he averaged 7.1 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 38.0 percent from the floor over 40 games overseas.
Speaking exclusively to Virgin Islands News Online, Hodge confirmed his signing and modestly added, "I'm working out with the team, and around everyone, but I'll eventually just be with the G League."
Former Lakers'
Hodge appeared in seven games for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2023-24 season, as well as 30 games with the South Bay Lakers and Rip City Remix of the G League.
He had stops at the State College of Florida and Cleveland State at the college level before finishing his five-year collegiate career with Missouri.
Hodge is also the first Virgin Islander to ever play in the NBA.

An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, non-guaranteed, minimum salary NBA deal allowing a team to bring in a player for training camp or Summer League to compete for a spot on the NBA or G League roster. If a player is waived but then signs with the team's G League affiliate for at least 60 days, they can earn a G League conversion bonus, incentivizing the player to join the team's development system. Exhibit 10 contracts can also be converted to two-way contracts before the regular season begins.
The NBA sees your dedication and capability.
While he participated in training camp, he was ultimately unable to secure a spot on the final roster and did not play in any official NBA games.
