CAPOONS BAY, Tortola, VI - Reinstating unity within the community is the objective behind a number of events and activities organized in District 1 as part of their Christmas Village event set for Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the Capoon’s Bay ground where activities will run from noon to 10:00 pm.

Ms Natalie O. Hodge, a member of the District 1 community group during a December 8, 2022, interview with JTV’s The Big Story said for the Christmas season 2022, they are bringing the community together in a big way and the entire territory is invited.

Kiddies Zone will be available - Ms Hodge

“There is going to be storytelling movies for children because of course it’s a family fun-filled event,” she added while detailing that available at the event will be a kiddies’ zone with a bouncy house.

Ms Hodge however noted that only members of the district will be permitted to vend at the event on the day in question, “District one vendors will have local traditional foods on sale. So that is open to just District One vendors. And then we are also going to have demonstrations, how to make dumb bread and sugar cake,” she added.

The event will also feature a sing-out competition, as well as a tart competition “So what we are going to do for this village is to judge the tarts based on their category, so all coconut tarts are going to be in one category, all guava tarts, pineapple, guava berry… so the person who bakes the best in each category,” she said will win that category.

Food & Drink Competitions

There are plans also for a local drink competition on that day and Ms Hodge said that there will be fabulous prizes for all the competitions.

Going forward into the new year for District 1, Ms Hodge said there are a number of committees that have been established such as a career fair committee and they will be hosting workshops as part of local workforce development initiatives where they will identify areas in trade that can bring jobs to the district.

“We have the beautification committee, they have already hit the ground running since the hurricanes they went around to different areas... planting palms and shrubs to back that beauty in the District,” Ms Hodge shared.

Hope they can bring this area back to life. It is a nice area, nice location..Have more activities.. Someone was suggesting it as a good spot for music festival, I respectfully disagree. Not enough sorrounding business to create maximum economical impact. I like the suggestion that was made to have music festival home be next to Pier Park in the middle of Pancake paradise and Yo-mama, with plenty, plenty parking space.. with Yomama at the back and and the stage facing the Sea, to minimize residential noise.. the sufface can be lsveled and press covered and prsssed fine gravels so it can observed water if it should rain..That area will bring about a lot of economical benefits for businesses. Keep the small pedistdian gate to pier park open with access in and out to the festval with a guard...of course you already have the pier Park fencing, So, wont need much more fencing.. Anyway, back to the subject. I like the chritmas idea. I will be there. I wish the organizers much success.

Wake up people. You are leading yourself and your kids down the wrong path. Christmas is a devil ritual. The tree is an Illuminati pyramid, the lights are the LGBT community, and the star and angels is for David the fallen Angel so why ar you worshipping the devil God of this Earth. Christmas is about the devil and the Antichrist called Jesus. Jesus always have the sun rays over his head for the sun God. Jesus from a baby always had his sheep because you all are idiot who she the monkey do and then you follow. When I was growing up baggy pants and loose pants was what men wear but with the fashion devil people they have all their puppets dressing you all with tight jeans squeezing your balls. I even see men here with purse so of course the LGBT community will have you all brainwash because that's what the devil worship, are you all enjoyimg the lodge stay dumb
